Dedicated to providing a pacemaker service to the people of the pacific islands

PIPS - Pacific Islands Pacemaker Services

WHO WE ARE

We are an organisation of volunteers delivering life-saving pacemaker services.

Pacemakers are life preserving for the people that require them. Sadly, because of cost of devices and a lack of expertise in this field, most of the pacific islands do not offer pacemaker services. This unmet need results in people dying when they have very slow heart rates. These people can be saved by timely implantation of a pacemaker device.

PIPS is dedicated to sending teams of experts to go and save as many lives as possible. The teams include doctors, nurses and cardiac physiologists all of whom volunteer and donate their time and expertise.

WHAT WE DO

01.

— Life-Saving Care

We deliver life-saving pacemakers to pacific people that would otherwise die or be significantly impaired without a pacemaker.

The team also provides a service to check the pacemakers of patients who already have one in place.

02.

— Clinical Expertise

The team includes doctors, nurses and cardiac physiologists, all of whom volunteer and donate their time and expertise.

03.

— Voluntary Group

Funds donated to the organization are used to pay for the costs involved with equipment, flights, accommodation, and transport.

Every dollar donated goes towards covering the costs incurred by the team in the process of providing life-saving pacemaker services.

It costs an average of $10,000 to send a team of 5 volunteers for a week.
